BUILDERS OF BECOMING:

chapter five - share your perspective

The next chapter isn't entirely mine to write.

BOB was never meant to be a finished idea presented to an audience. It is shaped by the conversations, questions, and perspectives that continue to enter the room. Including yours.

What have you been thinking about lately?

A QUESTION FOR YOU

A question, idea, subject, story, or perspective that you would love to explore with other people.  Or is there a particular voice or perspective you've been curious about?

What is something you’d really like to do, but don’t have anyone to do it with?

Something you've wanted to try.

Somewhere you've wanted to go.

Something you'd like to learn.

An experience you're curious about.

A FEW IDEAS FROM MY NOTEBOOK

Some are thoughtful. Some are useful. Some are playful. Some are simply things I think would be interesting to experience with other people.

Pick as many as you’d genuinely want to join.

Which of these would you actually show up for?

WHAT CAUGHT YOUR EYE?

Pick as many as you’d genuinely want to join.

OR MAYBE YOU HAVE ANOTHER IDEA

01 — The Things Nobody Teaches You About Building a Career
The lessons we somehow end up learning by accident.

02 — How I Actually Got Here
Forget the polished career story. What really happened between the job titles?

03 — The Unwritten Rules of Work
The things nobody puts in onboarding — influence, relationships, advocating for yourself, navigating people, and figuring things out.

04 — The Failure Nobody Puts on LinkedIn
What didn’t work, what happened afterward, and what it changed.

05 — What Success Looks Like When Nobody Else Gets to Define It
Ambition, expectations, meaning, money, and deciding what enough means for yourself.

06 — The Decisions That Changed Everything
The risks, pivots, yeses, nos, and accidents that only made sense looking backward.

07 — Cup of Ambition
Bring something you’re thinking about building, changing, pursuing, or figuring out. Let’s talk about it.

08 — Dinner With Strangers
One table. People from completely different industries, backgrounds, and worlds.

09 — Learning Something Completely Outside Your World
An introduction to something you’d probably never encounter on your own.

10 — Share Your Skill
Teach the room something you know — useful, niche, creative, practical, or wonderfully random.

11 — PowerPoint Night
Ten minutes each. Present whatever you’re currently obsessed with: a hobby, conspiracy theory, Wikipedia rabbit hole, celebrity, obscure historical event... anything.

12 — Basic Things I Don’t Understand
Everyone brings something they feel they probably should understand by now. We figure it out together.

13 — Scrap & Yap
Paper, scissors, magazines, snacks, conversation — and a vision board if one happens along the way.

14 — Come As Your Younger Self
Dress accordingly if you feel like it. Then write a letter — to who you were, or who you’re becoming.

15 — Game Night
Bring a board game, card game, or something nobody knows how to play yet.

16 — BOB After Hours: Secret Missions
Everyone gets missions to complete throughout the night. Evidence required. Points awarded. Dignity optional.

17 — Photo / Video Scavenger Hunt
Teams, a ridiculous list of things to capture, photographic evidence, and a winner at the end.

18 — Team BOB
Basketball, badminton, sports days, public courts — beginner-friendly and competitive enough to be entertaining.

19 — The Passport
A running list of places worth trying together — bars, live music, restaurants, cafés, events, and whatever else earns a stamp.

20 — Find Your People
Small meetups around something people genuinely want to talk about — cars, tech, astrology, books, design, sport, or whatever else brings people to the table.

Abstract editorial background with soft blurred washes of dusty blue, cream and muted deep

You don’t need to be an expert, a speaker, or someone with a perfectly polished story.

Maybe you know something other people would find fascinating.
Maybe you’ve lived through something worth talking about.
Maybe there’s a skill you’d happily teach.
Maybe there’s simply a conversation you’d like to start.

Tell me about it.

A skill you could teach, a story you’d tell, an experience you’ve had, or a conversation you’d love to start...

MAYBE YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO SHARE

A story. A skill. A question. An experience. A perspective worth hearing.

Maybe there’s something you’d like to bring into the room.

Whose perspective should be in the room?

SOMEONE YOU THINK WE SHOULD KNOW

Maybe there’s someone whose work you admire. Someone with an unusual story.

Someone who knows something the rest of us might be curious about.

Their name, Instagram, LinkedIn, website — whatever you have.

What makes you curious about them?

What would you love to hear them talk about?

They don’t need to be famous.

They could be someone building something interesting.

Someone who took an unexpected path.

Someone exceptionally good at what they do.

Someone who sees something a little differently.

Or simply someone you’ve met and thought, more people should know this person.

Who comes to mind?

IF YOU’D LIKE TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

Maybe we’ll end up in the same room.

BOB is still becoming.

Some ideas will turn into conversations. Some into small gatherings. Some might become something entirely different.

If you’d like to hear when something is actually happening, leave a way for me to find you.

Where should I send the occasional BOB note?

City + country is plenty.

No newsletter schedule. No inbox clutter. Just a note when there’s something worth showing up for.

FOR NOW, THAT’S ALL.

Let’s see what we make of it.

BOB started with a question.

What might happen if we made a little more room for curiosity, conversation, and people we might not otherwise meet?

I don’t know yet.

That’s kind of the point.

See you somewhere interesting.
